Unidirectional Fiberglass Fabric (UDTM) is a high-performance reinforcement in which continuous E-glass fibers are oriented entirely in one direction (typically 0°), then loosely held in place by a secondary stitching or binder yarn system. This structure maximizes load-bearing efficiency along the fiber axis, delivering exceptional tensile strength, bending stiffness, and load transfer capability in a single direction.

Unlike woven fabrics, UD fiberglass fabrics contain no fiber crimp, preserving the full mechanical potential of the glass strands.

The Role of UD Fiberglass Fabrics

Unidirectional (UD) reinforcements are essential in structural composite design, where mechanical properties must be tailored to match applied load paths.

In a properly engineered laminate:

▪ 0° UD plies carry axial and bending loads

▪ 90° plies support transverse strength

▪ ±45° layers handle shear and torsion

▪ UD layers serve as the primary strength axis for beams, profiles, and tension-dominant parts

This makes UD fiberglass fabric an essential building block in quasi-isotropic, orthotropic, and anisotropic composite laminates.

One roll is wrapped in plastic film and then placed into a carton or a large carton.

Normally, P4 (4 big rolls) or P7 (4 big rolls + 3 small rolls) or 6, 9, or 12 small rolls are packed per pallet horizontally/vertically. It can be customized based on the loading method.

Storage

Fiberglass products should be stocked in a dry, cool, and waterproof place. The best condition is with a temperature between 15-35℃, with a relative humidity between 30%-65%. Please keep the product in its original packaging before use, avoiding moisture.
